Amalfi Coast Local Living Adventure

In August 2016 I spent a wonderful 12 days in the Southern part of Italy. Exploring these new regions was truly a memorable experience. My trip started with a few days on the island of Ishcia which is a little over an hour ferry ride from Naples and was rated as the top island in Europe by Travel and Leisure readers in 2016. These few days where all about experiencing everything Ischia has to offer from sand, sea, wine and seafood. On my birthday I spent a full day boat trip around the entire island. We swam in the crystal Tyrrhenian Sea which was as clear as water in a glass and refreshed my soul after sunning on the boats deck. The food was cooked by the boat captains while we swam and we were treated to the most amazing bruschetta with home grown tomatoes, the freshest seafood, homemade pasta, and served with the lovely crisp Ischia white wine. Every ingredient was fresh from the farm or the sea that morning. A wonderful few days I will not soon forget.
The second part of this trip was on the Amalfi coast region with G Adventures local living trip. For seven days we stayed in our lovely farm stay high on the hill above Furore and did our guided day hikes from this location exploring everything the Amalfi Coast has to offer. Each evening we were treated to multiple course home cooked meals by the owners with ingredients straight from their farm. There is nothing like locally source ingredients to make your palate sign with every bite. Our cooking classes most evenings made you appreciate the love, tradition and care the Italians put into their food. The sunrise, sunsets and amazing views in this region will take your breathe away and make you appreciate the pure beauty this region of Italy has to offer. Unforgettable vacation with G Adventures.
